Small Frame Weaving (4 Sessions)

Adult Summer Class | Registration opens Monday, May 4, 2026 8:00 AM EDT

Jump into the exciting world of fiber arts weaving! In this workshop, you will learn how to make your own small frame loom and design a woven wall hanging. You will explore a variety of different weaving techniques, and experiment with color, pattern and texture to create a one-of-a-kind work of fiber art.

What you will learn:
- A variety of different weaving techniques
- How to work with different yarns, colors and patterns
- How to weave a wall hanging from start to finish

  • For the first class bring these supplies:

    • Stretcher bars to make a 12" x 15" frame loom:
    2-12”
    2-15”
    • Yarn or fabric strips (If you are going to buy yarn wait until after the first class so we can discuss what to get). I will have some yarn to use to get started with. If you already have yarn at home bring whatever you have!

    • Hammer
    • Ear plugs (to protect your ears when we are all hammering at the same time)
    • Scissors
    • Ruler
    • Sharpie
    • Pencil
    • Small 1 inch nails (you will need a lot so please buy the nails in the link or something similar)

Andrea Arts

Andrea Arts is a Philadelphia based artist originally from the Midwest. She received her BA in studio art from The College of Wooster and is currently an MFA candidate in fibers and material studies at Tyler School of Art and Architecture. Working across disciplines, Andrea is currently exploring ideas of truth, artifice, power, and clowns through the lens of Shakespeare.
