Open Studio provides access to self-directed students interested in exploring ceramics in a shared space. Participants must have technical proficiency, be capable of working independently and adhere to the studio firing schedule. Note that this is a monitored open studio and not an instructed class.
Open Studio Hours are subject to change depending on studio availability.
The first two weeks of the summer term Open Studio is available on Tuesday, June 16 and Tuesday, June 22 from 6:30-9:30pm
Starting the week of June 29th Open Studio hours will be expanded and include the following:
- Monday-Friday: 10:00 AM - 3:30PM
- Tuesday: 10:00 AM - 3:30 PM & 6:30 PM - 9:30 PM

First time open studio users must participate in an orientation. Orientation is held on the first Tuesday evening of each term. If you need to schedule a separate orientation, contact Scott Cooper, Senior Studio Technician, at scooper@fleisher.org.
Firing Schedule: All work should be placed on the bisque firing shelf by Friday, July 10 and on the glaze firing shelf by Friday, July 17 to guarantee it will be fired by the last week of classes. Students can continue to drop off work for glaze firing until Friday, July 31. Finished work can be picked up during operational hours between terms, or the following term. We will store unclaimed work for one term only. Questions about the firing schedule can be directed to Scott Cooper, Senior Studio Technician, at scooper@fleisher.org.
All artwork and supplies must be removed from Fleisher’s Ceramics Studio shelving by Friday, July 31 regardless of Fall 2026 registration status.
