Acrylic Painting (Friday)

Adult Class | Available

Learn the fundamentals of acrylic painting, including how to mix accurate colors, apply paint with intention, and work effectively with both transparent and opaque paints. We will discuss the advantages and limitations of acrylic as a painting medium and experiment to see what our paint can do!

Each class opens with a relaxed group discussion focused on a specific topic, supported by artist examples and live demonstrations. Students then work independently, receiving plenty of one-on-one guidance from the instructor along the way. We will paint from observation, photographs, and our imagination. This class welcomes beginners as well as more experienced painters looking to refresh their skills. While experience with drawing or sketching can be helpful, it is not required.

What you will learn:
  • Fundamental techniques of acrylic painting
  • Advantages and limitations of different painting approaches and materials
  • Color mixing and basic color theory
