Movable Books (4 Sessions)

Adult Class | Registration opens Monday, February 9, 2026 8:00 AM EST

Whether you are a beginner or an experienced book maker this workshop is your introduction to the exciting world of movable books. You will learn simple movable books, fold outs, pop-ups, rotating parts, and other types of movables.

What You Will Learn:
- Sources for materials, tools, and instructional guidance for future learning
- The basic hand skills of cutting and folding
- Different papers and other materials used in bookbinding
- A variety of movable book structures

Please note: Class will not meet on Monday, May 25 in observance of Memorial Day.

  • You will need all supplies listed to participate fully in the first session of class: 

    • Pencil
    • White eraser
    • Metal ruler
    • Triangle
    • Scissors
    • Olfa cutting knife or X-acto with extra blades
    • Bone folder
    • Self-healing Cutting Mat
    • Double Stick Tape
    • Card stock- get yourself some fun colors or patterns
    • Circle hole punches (optional)
