Week 3-4: Fiber Arts and Sewing (Two-Week Immersive)
Immerse yourself in fiber arts and sewing through hands-on making and creative exploration. This studio experience introduces both hand and machine sewing, along with foundational fiber techniques such as pattern basics, construction, and surface design. Beginners are welcome, and artists with prior experience will have opportunities to build on existing skills.
As the weeks progress, you’ll explore fabric, texture, and form while creating functional or expressive textile pieces. Emphasis is placed on skill building, craftsmanship, and intentional design, supporting the creation of finished work that can contribute to a developing portfolio. With individualized feedback and guidance from instructors, you’ll gain confidence using tools and materials, refine your techniques, and develop your personal creative voice. This immersive environment encourages experimentation, problem-solving, and thoughtful making.
All materials, tools, and sewing equipment are provided.
Note: Fleisher will be closed on Friday, July 3 in observance of Independence Day. This 9-day camp is prorated accordingly.
