In this workshop we’ll be looking the use of art and visuals to further queer activism throughout the history of the LGBTQ rights movement. Then, students will have the opportunity to spread their own message with supplies to make zines and posters.

Queer Makers is a space for queer and ally artists to come together, learn, discuss, and create! In this series of workshops, join student teaching artist Kieran Becker for a fun presentation on artists– historical and contemporary– who have used art to express their queer identity or highlight queer issues, followed by group discussion and responsive artmaking activity. Each session will focus on a new topic and new prompt for artmaking.
