Discover the vibrancy and richness of drawing with colored pencils! In this class, students will use colored pencils and other pigmented drawing tools to explore mark-making, as well as observational and abstract drawing techniques. The instructor will provide demonstrations on descriptive and expressive line quality, color relationships, color theory, layering, and more. Participants will practice capturing light and building volume, planes, and texture. In addition to working with hard, pigment-rich drawing utensils, students will have the opportunity to experiment with incorporating wet media such as watercolor and gouache into their drawings on paper.
