Color Darkroom Pop-Up Workshop with FRAGMENTS Artists and Filmmakers

Special Event | This program is completed

Join us for a special, one-time color darkroom photogram session led by instructor Ahmed Salvador and hosted at Fleisher Art Memorial. This workshop is being offered at the request of artist and fellow Fleisher photography student Mary-Angela Papalaskari, as part of her independent multidisciplinary project FRAGMENTS, which she is developing in collaboration with a group of artists and filmmakers.

This is a unique opportunity for students who have previously taken Ahmed’s color darkroom class to spend time in the lab, reengage with the color process, and explore creative ideas in an informal, collaborative setting alongside fellow creatives in a supportive environment. Please note that while this workshop takes place at Fleisher and is facilitated by a Fleisher instructor, FRAGMENTS is not a Fleisher program or initiative. Fleisher is serving solely as the host site for this session. Eligibility: This workshop is open only to students who have taken Ahmed’s color darkroom class at Fleisher. Filming Notice: This session will be filmed. Mary-Angela and her collaborators may use footage from the session as part of the FRAGMENTS project, including in public or artistic presentations.

  • Supplies will be provided. Please bring small, colorful translucent objects that are not too fragile to use as subjects for your photograms.
