Cyanotype Experiments
Special Event | Registration opens Monday, July 7, 2025 8:00 AM EDT
Cyanotypes, or “sun prints” are a fun, simple way to begin or continue exploring photographic printmaking processes. Made with just two types of chemicals, water, and the sun, a range of imagery can be printed this way resulting in a beautiful, rich, blue and white print.
• Clothing you may want to upcycle
• Any printing materials you want to contribute (things that can be pressed flat, objects that have different levels of translucency)
• Any specific paper types you may have or want to experiment with (textured papers are always fun)
Optional
• Apron and rubber gloves (the chemicals are non toxic and wash out of clothing pretty well when not exposed to the UV light but if you are worried about mess/have sensitive skin these would be helpful to bring)
