Printmaking On the Press: Intaglio
Adult Class | Available
Printmaking is a versatile technique for making image multiples for craft and fine art. In this class, you will learn a range of techniques using the printmaking presses available at Fleisher. We will explore quick free-hand methods like monoprint, as well as more exacting techniques like drypoint and copper etching. Students will also learn how to mix ink colors and explore the line and texture qualities unique to different methods.
This workshop is suited for beginners and offers intermediate students the chance to deepen their exploration of the medium, including rosin aquatint and sugar lift. Historical and contemporary printmakers will be introduced throughout the term. By the end of the semester, you will have the skills to create and take home an edition of prints to share!

2. Basic knowledge of drypoint, copper etching, monoprint, and relevant tools and materials
3. Students will be able to set up an efficient print station, print an edition, and work productively in a shared studio space
