Introduction to Mosaics, Session 2 (three-day workshop)
Adult Summer Workshop | Available
Discover the art of mosaics by giving new life to the objects around you. In this beginner-friendly class, students will learn the fundamentals of mosaic technique while transforming functional items—such as trays, planters, mirrors, or small household pieces—into meaningful, one-of-a-kind works of art.Focusing on creative reuse and personal storytelling, students are encouraged to bring materials from their own lives: broken dishes, chipped ceramics, jewelry, stones, or small keepsakes that can be incorporated into their designs. These personal touches add layers of memory and meaning to each mosaic piece.
Using a mix of ceramic tile, glass, and found objects, students will learn the basics of cutting, adhering, grouting, and design. This process-oriented course emphasizes experimentation and resourcefulness, with plenty of room for creative exploration.
