Learn to create a mosaic face using a contour drawing developed from a photo. Under guidance of the instructor, participants will explore contour drawing, create a shaped substrate and translate the drawing to mosaic. Special focus will be given to portraying emotions and character traits through use of color, texture, size and relationship of tesserae. Participants will consider the usefulness of the flow of the line (andamento). Experimentation with non-traditional materials and methods will be encouraged.
