Exploring Surface Techniques: Monoprinting and Slip Trailing (five-day workshop)

Adult Summer Workshop | Available

Push your ceramics further and learn to decorate your pottery with surface design techniques! In this class we will dive into two dynamic surface decoration techniques—monoprinting and slip trailing—to add expressive texture, color, and movement to ceramic surfaces. These methods are perfect for those interested in layering imagery, abstract mark-making, or storytelling through surface. Students will work on tiles and forms to develop a personal approach to both techniques. Each session includes demos, guided practice, and time for playful exploration. All levels welcome.

What you will learn:
1.Preparing and layering slips and underglazes for monoprinting
2. Methods for transferring drawn and found designs onto ceramic works

2.Using slip trailing tools for dimensional line work and pattern
3.
