Discovering Hidden Print Collections: Brandywine Workshop and Archives Tour
Tour | Available
Come discover treasures in Philadelphia’s special collections! You will get special behind-the-scenes tours of Philadelphia institutions, where you will see fine art prints and printed ephemera, not normally available to the public. Together we will look at prints from the past, learn how they were made, and learn how they are relevant to us today. The history of printmaking will come to life as we discover up close how artists used print processes like lithography, screen printing, and etching to make art and communicate ideas. For the past 40 years, Brandywine Workshop has been a leader in the development of offset lithography as a fine art. The workshop remains committed to the creation, documentation and preservation of a legacy of culturally diverse American art and insuring the participation of multi-ethnic artists and audiences in the field of fine art printmaking and related media technologies.
