Open Studio provides access to self-directed students interested in exploring ceramics in a shared space. Participants must have technical proficiency, be capable of working independently and adhere to the studio firing schedule. Note that this is a monitored open studio and not an instructed class.
Open Studio Hours are subject to change depending on studio availability. Hours are:
Monday: 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Tuesday: 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM, 6:30-9:30 PM
Wednesday: 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Thursday: 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Friday: 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM
First time open studio users must participate in an orientation. Orientation is held on the first Tuesday evening of each term. If you need to schedule a separate orientation, contact Scott Cooper, Senior Studio Technician, at scooper@fleisher.org.
Please note: This is a 9-session class. Class will not meet on Monday, May 26 in observance of Memorial Day.
Firing Schedule: All work should be placed on the bisque firing shelf by Friday, May 23, and on the glaze firing shelf by Friday, May 30 to guarantee it will be fired by the last week of classes. Students can continue to drop off work for glaze firing until Friday, June 6. Finished work can be picked up during operational hours between terms, or the following term. We will store unclaimed work for one term only. Questions about the firing schedule can be directed to Scott Cooper, Senior Studio Technician at
scooper@fleisher.org.
Please review your class schedule as not all classes meet through the week of June 6. All artwork and supplies must be removed from Fleisher’s Ceramics Studio shelving by June 6 unless registered for a Ceramics class during the upcoming Summer 2025 term.
Please note that part of this classroom is accessible by stairs only; please contact Fleisher for more information.
