Papercutting: Valentine's Day Edition, Evening

Valentine cards date back to the early 1800’s. Inspired by German folk art, these cards were designed with pin pricks or to look lacy. Over time the designs evolved to full out papercuts. In this session you will see some historical examples and create your own cards using either templates or your very own design!
What you will learn:
1. A bit about the history of papercutting around the world and most specifically about Valentines.
2. How to use a hobby knife
3. Working with positive and negative space.
4. How to Incorporate color into a design
5. Creating Valentine Day cards from start to finish.
