Critique Seminar (five sessions)
Adult Class | Available
This workshop will provide you different ways of thinking about both your personal art practice and the processes you use in the studio. Critique will focus on painting and works on paper, including collage. We will discuss developing different ways of approaching your artwork, enabling you to cultivate your concepts, and harmonize your creativity.
The class size will be limited, so everyone will have the opportunity to discuss their ideas and methods of their practice with a working professional artist, Fran Gallun. Each week students will bring up to five works (both finished and works-in-progress) for discussion and evaluation in order to create strategies for you to hone your artistic direction.
What you will learn:
1. It’s an opportunity to help resolve technical and conceptual problems that you are facing in your art practice
2. Learn from the experience of the other students.
3. Discuss ideas about art concepts and theory; artistic movements; and artists that suit your own reality, and are relevant to your own artistic practice.
4. It will give you an opportunity to articulate the concepts in your artwork.
This is a five-session class that will meet on alternating weeks. Class will meet on:
• Wednesday, January 8
• Wednesday, January 22
• Wednesday, February 5
