In this class, we'll be learning about Nerikomi, a traditional Japanese technique of layering different clay bodies. This technique offers many surface options, and we will be going over repetitive patterns (i.e. checkered) and agate structures (i.e. marbled). We will be working with dark and light clay bodies.

This class will meet for five sessions on the following dates:
Friday, October 18
Friday, November 1
Friday, November 8
Friday, November 15
Friday, November 22

*Please note: There will be NO CLASS on Friday, October 25.

Firing Schedule: All work should be placed on the bisque firing shelf by Friday, November 8, and on the glaze firing shelf by Friday, November 22 to guarantee it will be fired by the last week of classes. Students can continue to drop off work for glaze firing until Friday, November 22. Finished work can be picked up during operational hours between terms. Please review your class schedule as not all classes meet through the week of November 22. All artwork and supplies must be removed from Fleisher’s Ceramics Studio shelving by November 22 unless registered for a Ceramics class during the upcoming Winter 2025 term.
