Open Studio provides access to self-directed students interested in exploring ceramics in a shared space. Participants must have technical proficiency, be capable of working independently and adhere to the studio firing schedule. Note that this is a monitored open studio and not an instructed class.

Open Studio Hours are subject to change depending on studio availability. Hours are:

Monday: 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM
Tuesday: 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM, 6:30-9:30 PM
Wednesday: 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Thursday: 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Friday: 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM

Please note there are no Open Studio sessions on the following dates:

Monday, October 14 (Indigenous People's Day)
Thursday, October 3 (Rosh Hashanah)

Firing Schedule: All work should be placed on the bisque firing shelf by Friday, November 8, and on the glaze firing shelf by Friday, November 22 to guarantee it will be fired by the last week of classes. Students can continue to drop off work for glaze firing until Friday, November 22. Finished work can be picked up during operational hours between terms. Questions about the firing schedule can be directed to Chris Archer, Senior Studio Technician at carcher@fleisher.org.

Please review your class schedule as not all classes meet through the week of November 22. All artwork and supplies must be removed from Fleisher’s Ceramics Studio shelving by November 22 unless registered for a Ceramics class during the upcoming Winter 2025 term.

First time open studio users must participate in an orientation. Orientation is held on the first Tuesday evening of each term. If you need to schedule a separate orientation, contact Chris Archer at carcher@fleisher.org.
