Learn and practice your observational drawing skills while exploring some of Philadelphia’s vast collection of public art works. This sketch format ‘en plein air’ drawing class will introduce students to a range of works from abstract, contemporary sculpture to more traditional 20th century figurative monuments, and various others in between. Each session will meet at a selected location and begin with a brief history of the art and artists, followed by ample time for drawing, instruction and feedback. Topics covered will include composition, focal point, spatial relationships, drawing in perspective and defining detail.

*There will be some walking to and from some sites.

*Students should bring a small folding stool or chair for outdoor areas without seating.
