In this class, we'll be learning about Nerikomi, a traditional Japanese technique of layering different clay bodies. This technique offers many surface options, and we will be going over repetitive patterns (i.e. checkered) and agate structures (i.e. marbled). We will be working with dark and light clay bodies.

Firing Schedule: For 2-4 week classes, your instructor will discuss the firing schedule directly. Students can drop off work for glaze firing until Friday, July 26. Finished work can be picked up during operational hours between terms. All artwork and supplies must be removed from Fleisher’s Ceramics Studio shelving by July 26 unless registered for a Ceramics class during the upcoming Fall 2024 term. All other items left behind on student shelves may be discarded before the next term begins.
