Learn to draw organic forms of varying complexity as you explore the shapes, patterns and designs that occur throughout nature. We’ll work with subject matter such as plants, fruits, vegetables, bones/skulls, water, and reflection to explore the boundaries of the traditional elements of drawing: line, value, and spatial orientation. Each assignment will cover a spectrum of observation and abstraction, embracing the gray area in-between!
What you will learn:
1. Rendering of form through cross-contour and line variations.
2. Value rendering and optical mixing.
3. Various abstraction techniques, including techniques stemming from observational drawing.
4. Recognition of basic forms and patterns in nature
This is a 5-session class. Fleisher will be closed on Thursday, July 4 in observance of Independence Day.
