Program Description

In this highly energetic class, learn to abandon fears and truly embrace the experimentation of what water-based mediums can do. You will discover the joy in relinquishing control through guided demonstrations and painting exercises.

What you will learn:
1. Really explore alternative painting techniques
2. Get comfortable with working wet into wet
3. Take risks and experiment with new water-based materials

This is an 8-session course.

Required Supplies

• Palette and/or mixing dishes
• Liquid masking fluid
• Plastic spray bottle
• Painters Tape
• Watercolor brushes: round tip - #4 and #10,1-inch flat brush
• Watercolor paper: individual sheets or block–140lb. Cold pressed, 8 x 10, or 9 x 12 pads
• Watercolor paint in tubes or trays (Colors will be discussed the first day of class): a few suggested brands – Winsor & Newton, Da Vinci, L'Aquarelle, Holbein, Daniele Smith Watercolors, and Blick
• Water-soluble colored pencils and crayons (optional)
• Waterproof Black Ink (optional)
