Ceramics is a vast discipline, and it can be daunting for beginners to know where to start. This playful eight week course samples all the Fleisher ceramics studio has to offer. We'll make pots using pinching, coiling, wheel throwing, extruding, and slab building. With brief introductions to various equipment and techniques, students will discover their favorite ways of working in clay.

What you will learn:
1. The basics of studio equipment including the slab roller, extruder, and potter's wheel.
2. The basics of forming pots using pinching, coiling, slab, and wheel methods.
3. The basics of surface decoration using glaze, underglaze, oxides, appliqué, and carving.
4. How to decide which technique best fits your project ideas
