Tiles and Surface Decoration (three-session workshop)
Adult Summer Class | This program is completed
Secrets of surface decoration will be revealed in this fun workshop focused on color, imagery, and self-expression. Students will learn to make clay tiles and decorate them with a variety of underglaze application techniques suitable for all levels. Whether your aesthetic is minimalist or highly ornate, abstract or realistic, or bright or muted or monochromatic, you’ll discover a versatile range of decorating techniques to embellish your ceramics with personality and style.
We’ll cover the basics of underglaze application along with sgraffito and transfer techniques. This workshop is best for students with some prior experience in ceramics (at least one ceramics class in the past few years, or several years of past experience with a recent gap, for example).
