To realize your own inspiration, this online course takes you through a study of perception, the history of composition, as well as drawing and painting exercises. Students who take this course may proceed exclusively with drawing, or proceed to painting, as well. Inspiration is encouraged in the class, as well as technical matters to realize these inspirations. An encouraging atmosphere is one of the durable constants of this class. All approaches, from realistic to abstract, are supported. Come to the first class with a pencil and sketchbook.

What you will learn:
1. Gain an understanding of visual memory, and how it operates during observational drawing, as well as during imagination.
2. Experience using a drawing diary to plan paintings.
3. Completion of at least one planned painting from a thumbnail, through feedback, to relative completion.
4. Developing a sense of how your own drawing in paint leads to ideas.

Participants must have a valid Fleisher membership.
