Come discover treasures in Philadelphia’s special collections! We'll visit the Parkway Central Branch of the Free Library of Philadelphia. This research center is home to the Print and Picture Collection, home to a broad collection of fine art prints and artists books. It's also home to the Art Department that holds over 60,000 books on all aspects of the arts, as well as files on artists, architects, designers and collectors, and the art & architecture of Philadelphia.

You will get a special behind-the-scenes tour, where you will see fine art prints and printed ephemera, not normally available to the public. Together we will look at prints from the past, learn how they were made, and learn how they are relevant to us today. The history of printmaking will come to life as we discover up close how artists used print processes like lithography, screen printing, and etching to make art and communicate ideas.
