To assist you in preparing for this class, we have provided a link to the setup / test pages from the conference provider. If you have never used this conference service before please click on the link below so that your PC or device will be ready to participate in this class.

This class will explore lithographic processes that can be done at home! No need for stones, acid, or a press. Students will be work with paper and pronto plates to create both digital and traditionally drawn images. The plates will be printed with a wooden spoon to create limited lithographic print editions.

  • This is an online class hosted through Zoom. We recommend that you download the free Zoom application on your computer, phone, or tablet in advance of the first class.

  • You will receive a confirmation email containing a link to join the course via Zoom. The same link will be used each week.
  • • Will need access to a laser printer or copy machine (inkjet printers will not work for this process)
  • • Copy paper
  • • Black permanent marker
  • • Tube of black oil base lithographic or process black etching ink
  • • Putty or palette knife
  • • Ink rolling area - any smooth flat waterproof surface
  • • 4" or 6" brayer (roller)
  • • Gum arabic
  • • Bowl for water
  • • Sponge
  • • Wooden spoon
  • • Dish-washing detergent
  • • Vegetable OR baby oil
  • • Paper towels or disposable rags
  • • Optional: thin print paper - Speedball block printing paper or a Japanese smooth rice paper. Printing can be done on copy paper as it is archival.
