John Adams said a man should always carry a poet in his pocket. An online class to explore poetry's power, pleasure, and, perhaps surprising, utility. Working with poems each participant brings to share, handouts, and guided exercises we’ll examine the challenges and strategies that make a poem a poem - before making our own. Enjoy poems by Lucille Clifton, Henri Cole, Adelia Prado, Kay Ryan, Tony Hoagland, many more.
