Do you have imaginative ideas for drawings but do not know where to start? This class will take you through the steps to bring your ideas to fully finished pieces. Students will explore composition, focus, and movement in imagery as well as the importance of thumbnail and preliminary sketches, selection of drawing material, image size, and surface choices needed to complete a rendered drawing that brings imaginative ideas to reality.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN IN THIS CLASS
1. Steps to develop an imagined idea to fully realized drawing
2. How to select drawing and surface materials
3. How to create a successful composition
4. How to apply selected materials to create different illusions such as depth, texture, and movement

  • This is an online class hosted through Zoom. We recommend that you download the free Zoom application on your computer, phone, or tablet in advance of the first class.

  • Within 48 hours of registration, you will receive a confirmation email containing a link to join the course via Zoom. The same link will be used each week.
  • Materials to start the class:
  • Sketchbook
  • 2B pencil
  • White and/or kneaded eraser
  • Other materials will be discussed with each student as they develop their drawing ideas.
