Find your voice and your vision in a creative environment devoted to learning, discussion, and painting. This class is focused on helping the painter in you achieve the visual potential of your canvases. You will have a chance to improve your technique and expressive style in a supportive atmosphere, with personal attention from instructor and group critiques. The class uses a mix of still life and individual projects that span the range from realism to abstract expressionism. Students are also welcome to work on paintings that have a longer developmental path. Painting inspired by drawing, and past studies, is also encouraged.

WHAT WILL YOU LEARN IN THIS COURSE
1. Helping your painting show to its fullest potential.
2. Improvement in awareness of formal qualities and how to handle them.
3. Appreciating one's own discoveries in painting — that gift you express through the gesture and spirit of your personal style.
4. Learning from past art, as well as contemporary artists

  • This is an online class hosted through Zoom. We recommend that you download the free Zoom application on your computer, phone, or tablet in advance of the first class.
