In this online introductory class to jewelry wax fabrication, students will go from design idea, to wax model and final casting. You will learn techniques on how to transfer your drawings and designs from paper drawings onto the carving wax surfaces or the soft waxes. You'll be introduced to a variety of tools and techniques for carving a wax model for a variety of jewelry pieces, from rings, pendants to bracelets. By mid-way through the class you should be ready to have your wax model cast in metal at a casting house. We will discuss the specifics of choosing a casting house.

The goal of this class is to have 1-2 finished wax models and an understanding of what it takes to get good finished surfaces and clean models up to pre-casting mode. Please bring your ideas and creative energies to class so we can begin working on them together.
