The best camera is the one you have with you - and if you're like me you always have your phone with you! Learn how you can use your iPhone or Android smartphone to take better photos and become a better photographer. In this workshop you will learn to take control of your phone’s camera to adjust exposure and focus. You will also learn editing techniques to help your photos look their best. We'll discuss backing up and organizing your photos as well as other technical aspects of using your phone. And since phone photography is, well, photography, we'll also talk about lighting, composition, color, and other elements that can turn a good photo into a great one!

  • This is an online class hosted through Zoom. We recommend that you download the free Zoom application on your computer, phone, or tablet in advance of the first class.

  • Within 48 hours of registration, you will receive a confirmation email containing a link to join the course via Zoom. The same link will be used each week.
  • • You should be familiar with downloading apps from the Apple App Store and Google Play App Store and have accounts set up for paid apps
  • • Make sure you have enough free space on your phone for apps and photos, and please charge your phone before each class
  • • We will be discussing which apps to download in the first class - it's possible that apps will not be free but I'll do my best to use free or very inexpensive ones
