Narrative radio and podcasts are creating some of the most exciting and innovative storytelling available today. This online class is designed to provide a basic understanding of this new landscape and the techniques used to create it. Students will be encouraged to develop their own personal voice and style while learning and applying broader skills such as audio editing, interview techniques, journalism ethics, script writing, and recording with an understanding of online distribution and publishing platforms.

After a quick introduction to audio equipment and the history of radio as a form of communication and art, each student will be assigned a final project to be published online. The class will be split into smaller groups for workshopping and more comprehensive editing.
