If you are an experienced draftsman or just beginning your journey, this class will help you explore the limitless possibilities of the drawing medium. Through an array of experimental drawing exercises you will break the traditional boundaries of drawing, improve your drafting skills, and explore traditional and non-traditional drawing materials. Projects include blind contour drawing, drawing from a distance, group theme drawing, figures and independent work time. All classes will have demonstrations. Transform your practice and gain new ways of looking at subject matter and approaching materials and techniques.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN IN THIS CLASS
1. Recognize your own personal drawing skills.
2. Loosen up with new techniques.
3. Experiment with different drawing mediums.
4. Break outside your traditional boundaries.
5. Critique your own work

  • Start the term with these supplies:
  • large pad of drawing paper
  • pencils HB, 2B, 4B, 7B
  • graphite sticks
  • large charcoal sticks
  • eraser
  • white and black acrylic paint
  • conte crayons
  • 1” bristle brush
