Lottery Application for Cambodian Dance

Lottery Application | This program has been canceled

All ages welcome

3/28/2020-6/6/2020

9:00 AM-10:30 AM EDT on Sat

This class teaches the ancient dance forms once practiced exclusively for the royal court of Phnom Penh in Cambodia. Court dance teaches the ancient stories of gods, demons, and heroes, and the symbolic meaning of gestures, costumes, and masks. The class requires stretching and exercises in breathing and balance.

Class is conducted both in English and Khmer.

While membership is required for Cambodian Dance there are no lab fees for this class and all ages are welcome.

By following through with this process and clicking the register button (above) you can complete the entry into the lottery (this is not a registration for a class.) Please note that the dates in the description are for the lottery cycle and do not reflect on the actual term dates.

  • The lottery is conducted at Fleisher and results are sent to all participants by email within three weeks of the lottery deadline. Please save Fleisher’s email in your address book to assure that our email correspondence does not end up in your spam folder.

  • The Saturday program consists of 3 class sessions; morning, mid-morning and afternoon (with the exception of Cambodian Dance, which is only open to beginning students during the morning session.)

  • If selected from the lottery your child will be placed in the first available opening and may not be able to move to another time slot during the first term due to the fullness of the program, however, it will be possible to change to your preferred session after the successful completion of the first term.

  • A mandatory parent/guardian orientation is held for parents whose child is chosen through the lottery to further clarify the policies and guidelines and to answer any further questions. Registration will not be finalized until after the orientation.
