Do you like to break things? Do you like to play with colors, shapes, and textures? Does it sound like fun to put pieces (of glass, ceramic, and other mosaic materials) together to make a picture or design? Whether beginner or more experienced, you will create finished pieces using a variety of materials and the specialized tools appropriate for your specific project. Whether your work is decorative or functional, the instructor will facilitate exploration of design, proper construction (how to cut, glue, and grout) and finished presentation. The class will also take a look at historical and contemporary mosaic works and provide information on where to source materials and tools.



WHAT WILL YOU LEARN IN THIS COURSE
1. Conceptualize, design, and create your own mosaic(s).
2. Safely break and cut tile, glass, and mirror.
3. Lay down and adhere your design using glue and/or thinset.
4. Grout.
