This is your introduction to the printmaking processes of etching, relief and lithography. You will explore each technique by creating an edition of prints and will gain knowledge of plate preparation, image making, ink, paper selection and printing.

WHAT WILL YOU LEARN IN THIS COURSE
1. Gain a basic knowledge of printmaking types and history
2. Explore etching—image making, plate etching and printing
3. Explore relief printing—linoleum plate prep, image making, cutting and printing
4. Explore lithography—polyester plate prep, imaging making and printing
5. Gain an understanding of paper types, ink types and print editioning


• Participants must have a valid Fleisher membership.

  • START THE TERM WITH THESE SUPPLIES:
  • • Notebook (optional)*
  • • 1 pad newsprint (at least 14” x 17”) *
  • • HB Pencil *
  • • Black permanent marker (Sharpie) *
  • • 5” x 7” zinc plate *
  • • Four sheets of Rives BFK 250 weight paper *
