Learn how to draw organic forms of varying complexity as you explore the shapes, patterns and designs that occur throughout nature. While drawing subject matter like plants, fruits, vegetables, bones, and skulls (both human and animal), you will learn concepts of abstraction, magnification, composition and analytical drawing. The instructor will cover a variety of drawing techniques, including abstraction, cross contour drawing, planar analysis and full value rendering of objects and textures.

WHAT WILL YOU LEARN IN THIS COURSE
1. A recognition of basic forms and patterns that exist in nature
2. A recognition of different concepts about form such as abstraction, light and shadow, and texture
3. Cross contour drawing
4. Full value rendering

  • • 14” x 17” white drawing paper pad or equivalent*
  • • Drawing pencils: HB, B, 2B *
  • • Pencil sharpener *
  • • Kneaded eraser*
  • • Hard eraser such as white plastic eraser*
  • • A set of compressed charcoal*
  • • A charcoal pencil*
  • • 12 - 18 inch ruler*
  • • Scotch tape *
  • • A vegetable, such as a Bell Pepper (optional)
