Are you creating work that you would like to take to the marketplace? This workshop led by local shop owner Shannon Maldonado of Yowie will help you to prepare to present your work in a fun and supportive environment.

Through examples, quick workshops, and discussions we will talk through the steps to getting your work ready for the market. Shannon will cover packaging, line sheets, pricing, and margins and help you set up a plan of action. This workshop will help you answer these questions, and more, in a critique-based open discussion format. In addition, Shannon will cover photography, social media, and marketing planning as these go hand in hand with selling your work to potential stores and markets.

Shannon Maldonado grew up in South Philadelphia, channeling her creative energy into sketching and sewing from a very young age. After graduating with a Bachelor's degree from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, she gained experience at Ralph Lauren, American Eagle Outfitters, Tommy Hilfiger, and Urbn before launching Yowie in May 2016.

After a year of pop-up installations around Philadelphia, Yowie opened its doors on the iconic Fabric Row in late June 2017. Yowie merges handmade home accessories, independent publications, artist series apparel, and art in a modern fluid space that is always evolving. Shannon is currently training to join the board of directors at Fliesher Art Memorial. She looks forward to growing Yowie not just as a store but also as an intersection of art and community.
