Fifty years ago, while the U.S. was experiencing one of the most tumultuous years in its history, a sense of upheaval was also visible on the nation's movie screens. We will screen and discuss four groundbreaking films from the year 1968, all of which have left an indelible mark on film worldwide while continuing to pose relevant questions for modern audiences. We'll discuss the historical context of the 1960s, the creators involved, and the films' productions as we consider how the issues raised continue to be reflected today.

Films to be screened include:
• If... (d. Lindsey Anderson)
• Night of the Living Dead (d. George Romero)
• Faces (d. John Cassavetes)
• 2001: A Space Odyssey (d. Stanley Kubrick)
