Wrapping, binding, pleating, stitching, and clamping are various ways you can manipulate fabric to create intricate patterns on cloth. Explore the ancient Japanese technique of Shibori with indigo dye, and create 2 beautiful tea towels. Feel free to bring your own piece of fabric, scarf, blouse, or any other fiber material you are ready to transform, and walk away with a gorgeous gift.

Marie Elcin has been teaching in both the children and adult programs at Fleisher since 2007. She has a BFA from Moore College of Art and Design and a Master of Art Education from Tyler School of Art, Temple University. She is a practicing fiber artist with a focus on embroidery, surface design, and printmaking.
