Drawing from the rich history of comics, class projects will explore a variety of genres. Drawing exercises will be based on the specific techniques used by comic artists throughout history. Covering a broad overview of the field, we'll look at the golden age of comics of the 1930s and 1940s; the Silver Age Superhero Comics of Jack Kirby, Steve Ditko and Wally Wood; Horror Comics; Marvel House Artists of the 1970s, along with the 1970s underground comics movement; European Sci-Fi and Japanese; RAW comics and some current trends.
