This class is recommended for anyone coming to Fleisher with no previous instruction or experience.

You will learn step by step instructions on how to begin a drawing. You will learn about sighting techniques, negative space, visual measurements and the use of guidelines. We will start by drawing from Xerox copies of flat geometric shapes. In each class you will build on your skills until you will be drawing from life, both single objects and a still life with multiple objects. We will work primarily in pencil and charcoal.

Concepts covered include composition, design, tone, line, and perspective.
