This workshop will introduce you to a variety of textile treatments to create heirloom-quality fiber art pieces. You will explore both traditional and experimental dyeing techniques including batik and the Japanese method of shibori. We will practice an assortment of embroidery stitches and then explore their application to textiles as well as alternative surfaces. Finally, you'll learn applique, needle felting, and textile art techniques for embellishing your fiber masterpieces!
This workshop will be a social working environment. The first 30-45 minutes of each session will be dedicated to demonstration and discussion, followed by individual work time to practice the techniques you learn.
