During a variety of fun photographic sessions, you will gain a confident, working knowledge of the digital camera. Field trips and photo exercises will give you the “depth-of-field-ability” to create the desired dramatic effects in your photos.

You will master the digital camera through in-class exercises including low light photography, writing with light, and effective use of motion. A special night-time field trip, and walks in the Italian Market are designed to secure your mastery of the digital camera. Together we will learn about lenses, tripods, camera types/modes, and enhancing lighting options. Weekly photo challenge assignments keep your learning fresh.

All kinds of digital cameras are welcome: compact point-and-shoot, the new mirrorless cameras, and SLR (Single Lens Reflex) cameras. Tripods are not required but welcomed. Instructor Sharon Gunther is available to give advice on finding a camera to suit your lifestyle, inquire with registrar, TL Cheung about contacting the instructor for information tlcheung@fleisher.org.
