The Art of the Fine Print is about having fun while expanding your knowledge of darkroom basics in a very collegial environment. You will deepen your technical and artistic skills, explore new techniques, and harness your negative’s character to produce some very fine silver prints. You will also learn precise methods of exposure and development to produce much richer negatives.

As Ansel Adams wrote,"the negative is the score, and the print is the performance."

Every night consists of open darkroom printing under the one-on-one guidance of instructor Rick Wright. Rick treats every student equally and endeavors to help them improve their vision, their expression, and their print quality. Short discussions by fellow students help everyone in the learning process. This class is for those already comfortable with the basics of darkroom printing. We have a lot of fun!
