Gain a sense of confidence when attempting a portrait. In this workshop you will learn the fundamentals of developing a strong likeness. Achieving a likeness involves head structure, placement of features and observation of light and shadow. You will learn to see with greater understanding and how to translate what you see into a drawing. Poses will vary from short to long so that you are given maximum opportunity to learn how to get started.

What will you learn?
1. The observation and understanding of head structure.
2. Learning to see the direction of light in terms of light and shadow patterns
3. Observing the model’s complexion as a relation ship of skin color, hair color and eye color
4. Seeing the three qualities of light: light, transition and shadow

  • Fleisher will be closed on Monday May 27, to observe the Memorial Day holiday, the make-up session will be on June 12.
