We will begin by studying the nude model and drapery separately, building up to 2 longer poses with a clothed model. Emphasized topics include seeing tone, color mixing, human proportions, and focusing on planes to maintain a sense of volume in your painting.

We will also discuss the chemistry of oils and traditional oils techniques. Enjoy demonstrations and plenty of individual instruction.

What will you learn in this workshop?
1. Confidence painting the clothed figure and drapery
2. Mixing accurate colors
3. General understanding of oil paint and associated materials: knowledge of their chemical properties, how to use, and how to recycle/dispose responsibly
4. Human proportions

This course is recommended for students who have some experience with life drawing and/or painting.
This is an oils workshop, please no acrylics!
