Drawing from the rich history of comics, each project specializing in a different genre including, underground, manga, newspaper strips, editorial, superhero, childrens, etc.

Each class session will focus either on a specific artist, or artists of a specific time period and genre. Along with learning the importance of these artists and genres, and a brief history of their work you will see examples, and drawing exercises in technique according to their style.

We will cover a range of comics from: early comics and the golden age of comics of the 1930s and 1940s; the Silver Age Superhero Comics of Jack Kirby, Steve Ditko and Wally Wood; Horror Comics; Marvel House Artists of the 1970s, along with the 1970s underground comics movement; European Sci-Fi and Japanese; then RAW comics to the current comic scene going on right now.
